Sarah Giger studied baroque viola, traverso, and recorder.

She has been nurturing her passion for contemporary music for the traverso with original repertoire.
Since 2006, she has also been commissioning pieces for and with traverso and has focused increasingly on microtonal music.

"In my understanding, à travers means the traversos way to the contemporary music - and mainly also my way with the traverso along the contemporary music."

She performs with several baroque orchestras in Switzerland and is involved in various chamber music projects, performing on the baroque, classical, and romantic traversos.

She teaches at the Regional Music School in Liestal (recorder and traverso) and at KonsiBern (traverso and baroque chamber music). Sarah Giger lives in Basel.
